How To Watch The News Without Cable Or Satellite 2021
News and sports are the only viewing that is best done live. Almost everything else you can watch VOD (Video On Demand), on your schedule. Netflix is VOD. Amazon Prime Video is VOD. Jeopardy, recorded on your virtual or physical DVR, is VOD. Netflix changed the world but news and sports often need to be watched live, in real time.
On the StreamWise Solutions website we have plenty of information about watching live sports. This article covers ways to view a wide range of news sources from a variety of political, economic, and social perspectives. Some of these sources are available for free and some of them require a subscription.
Watch ABC News, CBS, NBC, And Fox For Free With Antenna
All your local and national news from the major broadcasters is available in stunning HD via a properly installed outdoor antenna. This includes all local and national news from ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX. These stations are broadcast in powerful signals in all major metro areas in the US but other news stations are also available via an antenna though availability will depend on your home location. Some homes in Denver may be able to watch NewsNet on channel 3.3 via the antenna. This is a low power signal so not all homes will be able to get it.
Watch Local And National News – Free Via Streaming
The amount of news available online, for free, is staggering. Pluto, the advertisement supported, free streaming app has twenty news channels running the political spectrum. While these channels are free to anyone with a decent internet connection, some of the stations are slimmed down versions of more popular news channels. Pluto has highlighted versions of CNN and NewsMax. These free versions of the cable channels do not feature all the pundits you can find on the paid versions of these channels; however, if you are happy watching news highlights from these stations this might be all the news you need.
Watch Live News – Paid Via Live Streaming (CNN, FOX NEWS, MSNBC, OAN, NewsMax)
If you need total access to cable news, you will need to subscribe to live streaming service. If you have an antenna installed you can get most of the major cable news networks via Streaming via Sling. With Sling, you can also add the news package for an extra $6 per month to get NewsMax and a variety of additional cable news channels. If your home is not in a good location for an antenna and you want cable news and broadcast channels you will need to subscribe to a service like YouTubeTV.
Watch OAN And NewsMax via Paid and Free Apps
One America News (OAN) can be downloaded to most streaming media players for the price of $4.99 per month. Amazon and OAN have negotiated a deal so that you can pay for OAN directly through your Amazon account which makes it convenient from a billing perspective. As with all newer services you should expect the price to go up in the next year or so but the price has remained steady for a year.
NewsMax has a free app that can be downloaded to most streaming platforms.
New Streaming bundle AT&T TV has also just added package options for NewsMax and OAN.
