2023-24 TV Price Increases
The 2023-24 TV price increases span most TV service providers – the worst being cable and satellite. If you are a customer of Comcast Xfinity, Dish or DirecTV, you are likely seeing the highest price increases for your channel bundles. But, most streaming providers are following suit.
Unfortunately, subscription prices have been going up 10-15% per year for the past decade. For some, prices go up annually in December or January. Streaming TV providers sometimes change their prices sporadically throughout the year too.
We’ve compiled a concise recap of price increase announcements across all TV providers including cable, satellite and live streaming services. Our goal is to help you cut the cord and save money without sacrificing a great TV experience.

In January, Comcast Xfinity raised TV prices by an average of 18%. We expect that to happen again soon with an announcement in early December. Some discounts for bundling Mobile are ok, but TV & Phone discounts are not worth it.

As of October 12, 2023, Dish is raising prices by an $5/month per package for the 2024 year. This is exactly the same thing they did a year ago. Sling also increased their prices by $5 per month for every package in June 2023; we expect nothing less in 2024.

For the second time in 2023, on Nov. 5, DirecTV is jacking up prices. DirecTV is going up as much as $10/mo. Add-ons are increasing. Also expect more channel black outs too. This is especially bad when combined with a 2 year contract.
Streaming Provider 2023-24 TV Price Increases
YouTube TV
In March, YouTube TV announced their price increase of $8/ month to $72.99 from $64.99 effective April 18, 2023. Expect the same announcement to come again in 2024.
DirecTV Stream
DirecTV Stream is increasing up to $10/mo. as of November 5th, 2023. While a good service for sports lovers, DirecTV Stream is one of the more expensive streaming service providers.
Fubo TV
fubo TV bumped subscriptions with a $14 RSN fee in February 2023 and we fully expect a $5 – $10 increase again in 2024. Altitude Sports add-ons cost an additional $14 Regional Sports Fee.
Hulu Live
Hulu Live increased prices on October 12, 2023. Hulu Live TV (with ads) is up $7/mo (~10% increase) and without ads is up $14/mo. (an 18% increase). Bundling Disney+ & ESPN+ helps a little if you want all 3.
Sling
In June 2023, Sling’s $5 price increase went into immediate effect. While still one of the least expensive streaming bundles available, it lacks local network tv channels.
Philo
The last price increase for Philo was in June 2021. Sans Sports and News, they have a higher probability to keep that low price point and few channel additions have been made.
Hulu (w/o Live)
The two basic Hulu packages (no Live TV) also have price increases effective October 12, 2023. The ad-free subscription is $3/mo. more; the ad-based subscription is $1/mo. more.
Frndly
Frndly has yet to announce any changes to their channel lineup. Thus, we do not expect a price increase in 2024. They are the least expensive live TV service and expect to remain so.
How to avoid 2023-24 Price Increases
Before you endure another price increase, take back control over your provider(s). Hundreds of Live Cable and Local Network channels are available for as low as $7/ month when you incorporate a Whole Home HD Antenna with today’s F.A.S.T. providers and live streaming micro-bundles. You CAN do this on your own. Or, save your sanity and save up to $1,500/ year on TV.
