Who is Quantum Fiber Owned by?
Quantum Fiber is a new, all-fiber brand owned by parent company Lumen Technologies. Lumen is the seventh-largest ISP in the U.S., based on its combined internet service of both all-fiber internet and DSL. Lumen serves about 3 million customers.
Quantum Fiber is highly recommended and is the all-fiber brand of Lumen. A second DSL-based brand also owned by Lumen is known as CenturyLink, which is not recommended. Note that CenturyLink’s DSL service is completely different in speed, quality and reliability compared to Quantum Fiber.
Compare Quantum Fiber vs Comcast Xfinity
Fiber is a great new product, but I get it, everyone hates CenturyLink. Here is the thing though, everyone hates Comcast Xfinity too. They both get 1 star reviews for customer service which is why everyone hates them both, so to me its lesser of the evils…
Comcast Xfinity has old coax cable lines for Internet, higher prices (that keep going up), modem rental fees, sneaky data caps, and way slower Upload speeds. Personally I dont know why you would want to pay more to Comcast Xfinity to get an inferior Internet Service. Quantum Fiber wins on speed and price!
Quantum Fiber: Internet plans, prices, and speeds
Price for life Fiber Internet. We recommend 500 MB for $50 per month for singles without many internet connected devices. Or Gig 940 MB for $70 per month is a great deal too. See Quantum Fiber Internet speeds and prices in your area.

Recommended Quantum Fiber Installation Tips
From 27 years of experience here are our recommendations to make your Quantum Fiber install go smooth and not be without Internet service.
- Overlap Internet service. Do not disconnect your old ISP (Xfinity) until after you are 100% sure the new Quantum Fiber is working well.
- Do not let the Quantum Fiber tech leave your home until after you have tested that all your Internet connected devices are working on the new Quantum Internet (PCs, printers, streaming devices, smart home devices, etc.)
- We always recommend using a neutral email like Gmail, MSN, Yahoo, etc. However you can use your current Comcast email address and keep it, even if you have no TV or Internet service with Comcast Xfinity!
- Don’t waste money bundling TV and Home Phone, there are way less expensive options.
- If needed install WiFi 6 Mesh to improve your home’s internal WiFi network.
