AT&T TV. Why Would You Trust Your Cable or Satellite Company to Help You Cut the Cord?
Cable and satellite companies are reeling from all the millennials who have cut the cord so they offer AT&T TV. And now they are trying to figure out a way out by offering “cord cutting” solutions. But don’t be fooled. These solutions are designed to rope you in and get you hooked on the old way of doing business. Trust me when I say that you will never catch a millennial renting equipment from a cable or satellite provider. They buy Firesticks and Rokus and routers and modems and set it up themselves.
Its the same thing that has been going on for years with Cable & Satellite. These companies will offer to rent you boxes and sign you up for contracts. And guess what? Prices will go up year after year and before you know it, you will be stuck paying too much for TV.
The only way to truly control your price to install an HD antenna. And the only way for an HD antenna to serve as the cornerstone of your entertainment, is to have the antenna professionally installed so its signal gets to every TV in the house.
Then, that signal needs to be integrated into your new high speed, AC WiFi network. This takes time and knowledge to accomplish but it will save you thousands over the next 5 years. This will not happen with AT&T’s new service.
DirecTV Satellite is AT&T is AT&T TV
It’s confusing and they want it that way… AT&T now owns the old DirecTV Satellite company. AT&T TV is DirecTV’s new bait and switch play to lock down Cord Cutters that don’t know any better. Same tactics of 2 year contracts and bait & swtich pricing all under a new name of AT&T TV.
AT&T TV, the company’s new streaming TV service, is finally launching nationwide today with steep discounts for the first year of new two-year contracts.
That pricing carries over to the company’s standalone video packages for AT&T TV. AT&T TV starts at $49.99/month for the Entertainment package and then jumps to $54.99/month for Choice and $64.99/month for Xtra. But those prices only apply for the first 12 months of a 24-month contract. After the first year, Entertainment rises to $93/month, Choice goes up to $110/month and Xtra goes up to $124/month. All packages including Choice and higher also carry an $8.49/month regional sports fee.
AT&T TV’s 2 year contract applies to you but not them.
7/2020 update – AT&T TV pricing has already gone up since this article was first published.
Does the above paragraph sound familiar? Its almost as silly as XFinity Flex. You will be paying outrageous monthly fees for TV just like you did before. In contrast, over the last five years, my monthly TV bill has gone up by $0 per month. Netflix is the only thing that has gone up in price, but it’s still an incredible value and has no contract.
Frankly, we think it is completely ridiculous to miss out on the benefits of the advanced technology that now powers HD antennas to give you 60+ channels free forever.
